Role-playing game about the future of the European Union
The role-playing game about the future of the EU is a game designed to
engage 12 – 30 students for approximately 2½ hours. The purpose of the
role-playing game is to encourage students to participate in a lively and
nuanced debate on the following topics:
- The EU budget (session 1)
- EU asylum and refugee policy (session 2 – optional)
The game consists of the following materials:
- 1 Teacher’s Manual
- 1 PowerPoint presentation for the teacher
- 1 spreadsheet for the teacher
- 1 sheet with interventions for session 2 about migration for the teacher
- 12 role cards for the students for session 1 about the EU budget
- 12 role cards for the students for session 2 about migration
- 1 fact sheet to be printed and distributed to the 12 country groups
- 12 cards with the flags and names of the 12 participating EU member states (to be placed in front of each group at the negotiating table)
